The Sharaka Steering Committee has launched a new call for applications for a Sharaka fellowhsip for researchers in the field of humanities and social sciences. The selected candidate will spend three months (March–April–May 2013) at the Global Connections Center (TAWASUL) in Muscat, Oman. The aim of the training programme is to establish closer links among EU and GCC research and academic institutions.
The Sharaka project held its second workshop in Abu Dhabi on 16-17 January 2013. The workshop, organised in cooperation with the EU-GCC Clean Energy Network and Masdar Institute, took place in the framework of the World Future Energy Summit (WFES). During the meeting, distinguished experts, including representatives from the European Commission and GCC authorities, exchanged views on potential ways to support and enhance the long-term strategic EU-GCC energy relationship. The Sharaka technical report about EU-GCC cooperation on maritime security was also presented and discussed during the meeting.
