The first series of Sharaka lectures was held in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman on 18-21 November 2012. The lectures addressed the ongoing process of institutional transformation of the European Union and its implications for the Union’s international relations. The aim of this outreach exercise is to have a dialogue with Gulf policy-makers, academics and civil society actors about the potentiality of the European integration process as a model for deeper forms of cooperation in other regions of the world.
